DuctIQ reads the scale directly from the title block on every sheet — no manual entry required. Handles 1:100, 1:50, 1/4"=1', and 1/8"=1'. Mixed-scale drawing sets with both metric and imperial sheets are resolved automatically.

Both duct types are measured and reported separately. Linear footage is calculated centerline-to-centerline per SMACNA conventions, matching what a senior estimator would produce. Round spiral duct in metric diameters (300Ø, 450Ø) converts to imperial automatically.

Every elbow, transition, tap, wye, and offset is detected and counted per system. DuctIQ also infers implied fittings at every direction change and duct size change — fittings that don't have an explicit symbol but are required by the geometry.

Gauge selection by duct width is applied automatically using SMACNA duct construction tables. Centerline-to-centerline measurement rules are enforced on every duct run. The output conforms to the standards your engineer of record and sheet metal contractor expect.

Rooftop units (RTUs), air handling units (AHUs), VAV boxes, ceiling diffusers, and floor/wall grilles are all identified and counted. DuctIQ traces each HVAC system independently so supply, return, and exhaust quantities never get mixed.

Every line item in your takeoff is traceable back to the exact drawing page it came from. If a reviewer questions a quantity, you can pull up the source page in seconds. Addenda are handled by reprocessing only the affected pages — the delta is clearly visible.
