Canadian mechanical sets do not all look alike. One job arrives with ratio scales and duct sizes in millimetres, the next with feet and inches, and a renovation can mix both on one sheet. A takeoff tool built for one convention makes the estimator convert the other by hand.
DuctIQ is built in Ontario and reads both. Upload the mechanical PDF, and it measures the duct runs at the sheet's own scale, counts the fittings and air devices, resolves the tags against the schedules, and exports the quantities to Excel. Plans are priced in Canadian dollars, from $29.99 CAD a month.
Metric and imperial drawings
- Ratio scales such as 1:50 and 1:100 are read from the title block or the view label, as are imperial scales such as 1/8" = 1'-0".
- Metric duct labels in millimetres (for example 400x300 rectangular, or a round size marked with a diameter symbol) are read as metric, and imperial labels in inches as imperial.
- Each sheet is measured at its own scale, so a set that mixes conventions is not forced into one.
- A reduced print (a sheet printed smaller than its stated scale) is caught before it is measured, and you can calibrate it from two points a known distance apart.
Priced in Canadian dollars
There is no exchange rate to watch. Vent is $29.99 CAD a month (10 credits), Trunk is $55.99 CAD a month (20 credits), Plenum is $99.99 CAD a month (40 credits), and each mechanical plan sheet costs 5 to 15 credits depending on how much ductwork is drawn. The cost is shown before a takeoff runs, and you can cancel anytime.

Built in Ontario
Built by a practicing P.Eng and principal of an Ontario mechanical contracting firm, for the estimators at that firm.
It is a focused tool for the duct takeoff, not a general construction suite: duct linear feet by system and size, fittings, air devices, equipment from the schedules, gauge and sheet metal pounds, every line reviewable before it reaches your bid.

Are DuctIQ prices in Canadian dollars?
Yes. Plans are $29.99, $55.99 and $99.99 CAD a month.
Where is DuctIQ built?
In Ontario. Built by a practicing P.Eng and principal of an Ontario mechanical contracting firm, for the estimators at that firm.
Can I try it on a Canadian drawing before paying?
Yes. A free account takes off one plan sheet of your choice as a preview, with no credit card, so you can check the result on your own drawing first.
